All Columbus Aquatic Club Athletes are required to hold a current membership for the respective governing organization. 

USA SWIMMING MEMBERSHIP - HURRICANES & TIGER SHARKS

USA Swimming Membership is required for:

  • Youth Athletes
  • Anyone over 18 training in our competitive programs or competing in USA Swimming events
  • Coaches
  • Adult Volunteers serving as Officials and Board Members
  • Team Employees

How to obtain USA Swimming Membership:

  • Returning  Hurricane Swimmers: If you were with our team (Hurricanes or Tigersharks) and obtained a USA Swimming Membership after Sept 2022, your swimmer will automatically  be renewed by our team and billed for the renewal in September.
  • Transfer Swimmers: If you registered with USA Swimming as a member of another team, log into your USA Swimming account and submit a request for transfer to the Columbus Aquatic Club. After this is processed, we will be able to renew your membership with the rest of our returning swimmers.
  • First Time USA Swimming Members:  ***2024-2025 Update*** USA Swimming has rolled out a new functionality this year that allows us to process your swimmer's first USA Swimming Registration. Your account will be billed for this membership in September (Early Registrations) or during team registration. (After Oct 1).

What type of membership will we use?

  • First Time Cat 1-5/Seniors: Premium Athlete ($89) New Cat 1-5/Senior Swimmers use the Premium Athlete Membership.  After April 15th, New Cat 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and Senior Swimmers may select the Individual Season Membership ($51)
  • PreCompetion Group and Tigershark Summer Team Swimmers:  Flex Athlete $30 New Pre Competition Group Swimmers and Tigershark swimmers under the age of 12 use the Flex Athlete Membership.  This is a limited membership to cover your swimmers for practices only until they are ready to join the Competition practice groups. (Membership upgrades are available to convert Flex Membership to a Premium.)  Tigersharks over the age of 12 must use the Individual Season Membership ($51).
  • Adult Members: Other and Official These memberships are utilized for adults employed with the team, serving on the Board or volunteering as Officials.  If you are interested in serving in any of these roles, please reach out to President@swimhurricanes.com or vicepresident@swimhurricanes.com
  • Parents may create a free a USA Swimming Parent  account to link with their swimmer, access USA Swimming resources and training. and review their swimmer's info.  This is optional and not required!

 

US MASTERS SWIMMING

US Masters Swimming membership is required for:

  • Adults (18+) training and competing with the Hurricanes US Masters practice group

After completeing annual registration with the team, New and Renewing Members should process their US Masters Swimming Membership via the US Masters Swimming website.
